[toggle title=”Project Description” state=”closed”] Focus
In this project we will be focusing on getting used to using Photoshop and its interface. You will use the tools you are introduced to create a pleasing composition by selecting other images and copy and pasting them into your final image. We will be using these skills to create a digital collage that will look like a snapshot from a different dimension that includes you or someone you know.
[infobox style=”tksc-alert-info”] The focus of the project is explained above. This is what I want you to concentrate on while working on the project.[/infobox]
Project
In our first assignment, we will be creating a collage that will look like a snapshot of you or someone you know taken in a different dimension. The subject matter can be as silly, weird or serious as you’d like but it must be monotone (only one color. Sorry, that’s apparently how this device works). The image must be created through collage, contain a picture of you or someone you know (not taken with a camera on a computer) and there must be something about the location that could not exist in this world.
[infobox style=”tksc-alert-info”] This is a description of the actual project you will be working on.[/infobox]
By next class
Have at least 5 sketches of possible alternate dimensions. Each one should be on 8.5 x 11 paper only use one side, if you use a sketchbook you will have to tear these out to display them
[infobox style=”tksc-alert-info”] You will often have to come up with some ideas or resources for your project so please make sure you pay attention to this. [/infobox]

Final piece description
The final piece will be an unflattened Photoshop .psd file that is at least 1080 pixels on one side containing at least one picture taken by you. The picture should lead your eye around the composition and show the subject in a location or dimension that is different from our own. The .psd file will be sent to me no later than the beginning or critique. A jpg version should be uploaded to the proper dropbox on our homeroom site. The piece should also contain all of the items in the “Requirements and grading criteria” section below.

Requirements and grading criteria
Your piece will need to have the following, missing any of these will result in a lower grade. Please make sure to revisit this section before you turn your final project in.
[frontend-checklist name=”Sample Project”]
[infobox style=”tksc-alert-error”] It is really important that you go through everything. I can’t tell you how many times a beautiful project has lost points because of something like not naming layers or another requirement. [/infobox]
